Bonded warehouse supports cross-border trade

New facility at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport

The first Public Aviation Materials Bonded Warehouse located in Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is operational. The facility in which dutiable goods are stored without payment of duty has a floor space of over 2,000 square meters. Shenzhen customs approved the facility in July 2015.

To meet the demand of the aviation industry and develop the necessary aviation material logistics, Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen set up the necessary infrastructure, starting in 2013. Numerous requirements had to be met to establish a bonded warehouse. Approvals had to be acquired and the IT system had to be tailored to meet the demands of the local customs authority. Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen followed the applicable Chinese laws and customs regulations, as proven during the visit of the auditing team from Shenzhen customs. Focusing on infrastructures inspection, e.g. warehouse isolations, access doors, the CCTV monitoring system and the inventory management system, the auditors gave the green light. With the acceptance certificate signed by Shenzhen customs, LTLS was able to open the facility officially on 23 September.

As the new bonded warehouse is located at the Shenzhen airport, where the local customs authority is working 24/7, the bonded warehouse can also operate around the clock. The new LTLS Public Aviation Materials Bonded Warehouse is ready to provide a substantially faster and more economic logistics solution for airlines to perform cross-border trade in Shenzhen.
