The challenge

A large European airline was dissatisfied with the costs and high level of work needed to organize and carry out its transports. Since the airline had only small amounts of material to ship, its costs were relatively high in proportion to the volume. There were lots of forwarders and integrators in the airline's supply chain, and this resulted in a great deal of work coordinating and organizing transports as well as checking invoices and managing purchasing. Moreover, there was no shipment tracking system in place, and thus no transparency in the airline's transport services. 

Our solution

We set up a cost savings program for the airline for all its transport services and established a single contact partner for all transport aspects of the airline's material supply. We now coordinate all the shipments and purchases on the customer's behalf, which has significantly reduced the work of organizing transport. And with our IT solution, the customer's shipments can be tracked and controlled transparently within its own system.
