State-of-the-art warehouse design in Munich

With Lufthansa Technik stepping up its capacities, inter alia for the support of the Airbus A350, the existing Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services (LTLS) warehouse in Munich is being expanded by 3,200 square meters of floor space.

The enlarged warehouse will be equipped with the most modern and innovative storage technologies. An automated block storage system – AutoStore – is being established on the second level of the new part of the building. The expansion's first stage will enable the storage of 15,000 bins, with the option of accommodating another 7,000 bins. The expanded facility offers room for a further narrow-aisle rack, a pallet rack for wheels, a platform system with shelving racks for small parts and battery preservation as well as a cantilever racking system for oversized and long components. The concept delivers space savings of more than 50 percent compared to conventional systems.

As the expert in aviation logistics, LTLS' long years of experience are an excellent foundation when it comes to the successful design and implementation of warehouse services, facilities and processes. The LTLS product combines more than fifteen years of experience in aviation logistics with extensive know-how of general warehouse management and conceptual design. Into our logistics products we share this know-how with our customers to solve their problems through our product logistics expertise.

The warehouse expansion in Munich is a fitting example for these comprehensive consulting services. The best-practice approach realized here offers significant efficiency gains for the logistical support of the newest widebody aircraft. Material flows are optimized and synergies are created by centralizing the operative business – a result underlining the value-adding approach of the LTLS experts.
